FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the due date for filing an ITR?
For individuals and other non-audit cases the statutory due date is 31 July, and for taxpayers requiring a tax audit it is 31 October, unless extended by the government. Late filing attracts a fee and interest.
Which ITR form should I file?
It depends on your sources of income. ITR-1 suits most salaried individuals, ITR-2 covers capital gains, ITR-3 covers business or professional income and ITR-4 is for presumptive taxation. We help you select the correct form.
What documents are needed for ITR filing?
PAN, Aadhaar, Form 16 (if salaried), bank statements, AIS/Form 26AS, investment proofs, home loan certificates and capital gains statements, as applicable.
How are fees for ITR filing decided?
Fees depend on the complexity of your return and the number of income sources. We confirm the fee upfront after reviewing your requirements.
What if I miss the ITR due date?
You can generally file a belated return by 31 December of the assessment year, with a late fee. You may also lose the ability to carry forward certain losses, so it is best to file on time.
